Let your light shine through...

I've finished my third page in my chipboard album titled Moments.  My album of personal inspiration and growth.  Key thoughts to promote awareness and wellness in my life.  This year is a year of focusing on self improvement and growth, compassion for my needs before everyone else's, and my crafts are a huge part of that.  It's a work in progress... LOL.

I started to get some of the pieces cut last night and laid out so today I could do the details and put it together.  Let me take you thru my page.

I chose my background paper.  I'm going to continue using MME Lost and Found paper pack I have so that there is a cohesiveness to the album.  I'm kind of anal that way.  I'm a bit of perfectionist.  That's not a bad thing is it?  LOL  May my perfection be seen thru my imperfections.  :)  Or as Tim would say,,, embrace the imperfections.  I'm working on that! LOL

The harlequin stencil was kind of a mess up... one of those DOH!  I can't undo it moves.  So, I worked with it to make it respectable.  I took my Dylusions harlequin stencil and my Viva Gold creams in platinum and rubbed it on thru the stencil with my finger.  I hated it!  There comes that perfection thing!  The platinum was too white and metallic looking.  What to do!?  Well, let's try rubbing the brown/gold overtop.  I replaced my stencil over the existing pattern and reapplied the new color.  It did not cover the previous color perfectly, but the mottled look was kind of cool.  After I washed my stencil and dried it, I went back and replaced it across the paper and used Distress ink pumice stone to softly carry the image onto the rest of the paper.  Ok,, getting better.  Maybe once the rest of the page comes together it might be doable.  ;)  At least, I'm telling myself that...

Time to do a matte for a photo.  I decided on a 4x6 matting.  The outer framing is cut a half inch larger so there is a 1/4" border around the image.

Time to start with some of the details.  Cut some flags.  I again used the same size cuts as my previous page since this page sits like a double layout.  So 3", 3.5" and 4" cuts with a 1" depth.  I made 5 flags in total.  I did opposite paper patterns and distress inks the edges in pumice stone.  Adhere them in place.

Since the theme of this page evolves around enlightenment I wanted to use Tim Holtz's rustic lantern diecut.  I cut from coordinating paper from the paper pack, inked the edges in what else.... pumice stone.  ;)   I wanted to find some Vellum paper which  know I have somewhere but I couldn't find my white ANYWHERE, it went AWAL on me, but I did find some really cool plastic that I got years ago from a purchase I made and it has this really neat pattern and swirly shine to it.  Very psychedelic looking.  Perfect!  I used that instead of the hide and seek vellum.  ;)  I loved it.  I assembled my lantern and embellished it with a banner and a Prima flower.  :)

And the Le Pei de resistance...I'm not French so forgive my attempt... LOL  A few sentiments placed here and there and it's done.  :)  The sentiments were from CTMH, and a few other small embellishments.

I have no clue where all the time went today... oh yeh, appointments and dealing with my bank to correct a glitch on the online site.  Once that was all done most of my day was consumed and I didn't have a lot of time for my scrapbooking.  I'm glad I got stuff cut last night.  :)  Time to think supper, and then crash.  I feel very tired for some strange reason.  Have a good night everyone!  I'm off to ponder what my next pages inspiration will be.  :)

A wine that one of my GF's got and I love the label so I want to try it.  :)  If anyone has tried it, I'd love to know if it is any good.  :)

    1. Thankyou! :) It takes me twice as long as anyone else to do a page or any project cause I ponder and over think it too much sometimes. LOL I'm working on trying to fix that part of me too. ;)

  2. There's that great lantern again. Looks wonderful. Cute bottle name. I have an app that you scan the label and it tells you all about it.
